Tracey Sanders was born and raised in Marianna, Florida. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1977, Chipola Jr. College in 1979, and the University of Florida with a BS in Agriculture, specializing in education, in 1984. Shortly after accepting her first teaching job in Wewahitchka, FL, she met her husband, Albert and they were married four months later. Tracey and Albert have two grown children, A. J. and Sadie. The family moved to Baconton, Georgia in 1990 and Tracey currently splits her time between Baconton and Marinna, while caring for her mom.
Tracey has always been interested in art, but never had a chance to explore her abilities until she began watercolor lessons in 2008, under the tutelage of professional watercolor artist, Jean Weiner. Since that time she has come to love the vibrant colors, transparent washes, soft blends and pure joy of watercolor.
Tracey paints primarily in the realistic style with the occasional foray into her own colorful fantasy world.
Tracey has won many awards for her art, including Best of Show at the Pelham Wildlife Festival in Pelham, GA, 1st Place at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia, two purchase awards at the Georgia National Fair and several 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
